Behind Palmetto Senior Moves

For our family, this was a two-step journey. When our grandmother began struggling with memory loss and a cluttered, unsafe home after COVID, my dad, Eric, spent a month living with her in North Carolina while continuing to work. During the day, he worked his regular job, and at night, he sorted through decades of belongings and memories in the childhood home he grew up in, helping her prepare for a move.

After she passed, we found ourselves back in that same home, facing a different kind of transition. We had to sort through her belongings, decide what to keep, donate, or sell, and prepare the home for sale.

Going through both stages gave us a firsthand understanding of what families experience during these major life transitions and ultimately inspired us to create Palmetto Senior Moves.
